If you stopped by the Columbus Bar in the last two days you may have noticed our sign is missing. Well, Pat Hietz crew came and got our sign Monday March 8th. The old antique sign is one of the treasures of the Columbus Bar and we are very excited to have it restored. We will be repainting the sign and replacing broken neon tubes. Okay, I have a friend who came up with a brilliant idea. Take 8 beers of the same style, pair them up in groups of four. Taste each pair of beers and choose a winner. The winners go on to a second round, then a championship round, sound familiar? When we purchased the Columbus Bar in 2006, the neon sign hanging above the door of the bar side was in better condition than anything else in the place. Most of the neon worked, there wasn't much paint peeling from it and it had words and stuff, you can imagine how the rest of the place looked.During our restoration of the Columbus Bar we wanted to fix up the old sign too.
